I am a designer, admirer of organic, natural forms. My practice depicts my day to day influences, through the use of preparatory methods.

My appreciation for illustration has been a great influence in my practice, using the strong drawing skills that I have developed over my time at Manchester Metropolitan University, I am able to incorporate this into my work allowing me to showcasing my own personal style within a varied art form. Using a range of techniques and media, I aim to show versatility and a passion for keeping that raw hand-drawn quality within modern design.

INTERNSHIP | Pretty Disturbia 

 

I was working as an intern for a independent fashion company based in Manchester, the style is both alternative and punk inspired. Here I am able to let my creative juices flow, from designing, customizing garments, helping out on photo shoots as well as the behind the scenes on promotion and selling.

 

WORK PLACEMENT | House of Fraser

 

This gave me an insight into how retail works behind the scenes, as well as improving my interpersonal, presentation and teamwork knowledge and skills. I also gained a better understanding of how a successful branded store is continuously changing its lines, in order to keep up with the demands of the fashion industry.

CREDIT CONTROL & CUSTOMER SERVICE| TopQuote Ltd

The job role included Home insurance credit control, DD1 calls for Life insurance and working within the customer service department. Credit control, was the main focus of the job. Contacting customers regarding missed payment and following up communications. Achieve effective “Chaser” procedures through emails, phone calls and letter. Maintaining accurate and up to date customer details and accurate records, keying in reports such as cancellations, lapsed cases and missed payments.

Monitor all incoming correspondence, ensuring that customer queries are resolved promptly and accurately. 

In addition DD1 calls, which entailed contacting customers with Life insurance, notifying them of their policy start dates and payment dates. Briefly going through their policies and amending any incorrect information.

Skills Used: Time management, Excellent customer service, Microsoft Excel, Organisation, Administrative and computer skills, Problem solving.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR | Alfresco Gas Direct

I was working as an office administrator, my duties included providing excellent customer service when processing orders both verbally and online through the use of Sage and Act!. Setting up price plans for both commercial and domestic customers. As well as answering corporate emails, general enquiries and chasing up orders. Skills Used: Excellent customer service (verbal based job), Time management, Organization, Microsoft, Team Player
